I Watched MagiRevo

I've been following anime for many years, now, but unfortunately, long gone are the days when I would watch every single thing that aired in all the seasons. These days, I still consume a good chunk of it, but less frequently, falling more into my gamer side and also diversifying to other media and experiences. One thing that still pulls me to this old hobby and forces me to actually consume all the good shows I observe on Twitter are my amazing friends like Momo and Sensei. Nothing like having great company to make watching a great show more interesting. Even bad shows can be great with good company.

MagiRevo was one of those animes. I knew a bit about it from seeing some funny scenes from Mutual's on Twitter, and I probably would only have watched it many years from now, but Sensei turned out to really love this one, proclaiming that I needed to watch it immediately. So setting up a date, we gathered in my house and spent the whole day, non-stop watching this Yuri masterpiece.

It's very common in certain Yuri projects to have a tease of a potential obvious relationship that stays in that thin line between friends and lovers, without any explicit development in the ship. Lycoris Recoil was a prime example of another fantastic show we watched together, that had one of the best yuri ships but everything was just very friendly. It's also common for ladies to flirt with one another as a gag, which my gay ass really takes whatever crumbs I'm given, but still kinda disappointed that we don't have more clear anime about these things, especially ones that aren't solemnly about romance.

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady is your usual Isekai, a genre that I'm not particularly crazy about, to be honest. In this one we follow Anis, a princess, that is born in a magical world without having any compatibility with magic. I quite enjoyed this character, she is completely crazy and bold, very funny and kind. The way she mixes her knowledge of the science from our world with the magic of her new realm isn't necessarily groundbreaking, but it provides a great set up for her to expand her wings.

The other protagonist and our blonde love interest are Euphy, a perfect young lady that follows her role as a noble flawlessly. In the beginning, my mind was well decided in liking Anis the best, but as the show continued, and we started seeing a new, more daring side of Euphy I started falling in love more and more. She is just so perfect!

One thing I particularly loved about their dynamic, apart from them being extremely cute together, was how it developed. Anis was your typical flirty girl, always making the silver girl flustered and confused, then the tables turn once Euphy gets out of her comfort zone. That ending was the most perfect thing ever! The bed scene too! Just so many great scenes between them that I can't stop rewatching them.

My favorite part, however, must be the comparison scenes we had from how it began and how it ended. Seeing how everything ends up complementing itself is marvelous. I just hate the lack of AMV's and TikTok edits, fans need to work harder! xD

But yeah, overall it was a good, wholesome story about love, responsibilities, and the power of being true to yourself. There were some elements with the main antagonist that I wasn't a particular fan of, the ideas were interesting, but I felt like their motives were quite weak. Nonetheless, it provided a good climax and an interesting outcome.

If you are like me and enjoy a good yuri, plus some nice fantasy to the mix, I highly recommend checking this one out. It's not a revolutionary tale, it won't break your world, but it will leave you with a good grin on your face. Now may Anis's father rest in peace. xD

Hard-Work

The Struggle of Motivation: It's very common to see people call very high skill individuals talented, though most of them end up not liking this type of compliment because it erases the hours of training they have endured until that point. When we say someone is talented, it usually means that they have a natural aptitude or skill and implicates that they don't have to try to be good. Now talent exists, some people are more prone to learning certain topics quicker than others, but that alone doesn't make the individual, they won't progress much if they don't put the time to sharpen themselves.

Always One Step Behind

It's been a while since I've thought about this little blog of mine, a long time since I've felt the urge to come back and share some of my dumb words with my sweet void. As usual, my life has been pretty hectic, with lots of new things and new experiences, all pretty exciting but at the same time all pretty demoralizing. As you probably know, I've always been a shy and quiet kid, my teens were spent in my room alone playing video games inside the closet. This made me lose a lot of the experience in life one should get in its teenage years, this never bothered me before but lately I'm starting to see some of the consequences.   It's starting to really bother me how little I know compared to my friends and as I get to finally experience the things I missed in my younger years, I noticed how frustrating it is to deal with a world that already knows double of what you know. Going out at night and drinking, getting into my first relationship all these things start...

I Watched Den-noh Coil

Internet, Grief and Depression: I'm a big fan of a site called Anifem , where a bunch of people get together to write and produce podcasts about anime and how they fare within feminist views, everyone is really amazing, and I highly recommend checking them out. Since I found the site somewhere last year I've been going through their backlog, reading and listening to all of their content, and that's what led me to find Den-noh Coil, a show about young kids living in a reality where augmented reality glasses are a thing.
